Next Five ARCA Races Include Springfield & DuQuoin

Milestone Approaching: Kimmel’s 500th Career ARCA Start On-Track for
DuQuoin Southern Illinois 100 September 7th

Concord, NC (July 29, 2015) – After nearly a month away from the drivers’ seat, 10-time ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards Champion, Frank Kimmel, will return to familiar surroundings for this weekend’s ModSpace 125 at Pocono Raceway.

Kimmel, who’s sharing driving duties this season in the No.25 Ansell-Menards Toyota with Brandon Jones, will compete in the next five series events – Pocono, Berlin, Springfield, DuQuoin and Salem.

“It will be great to be back in the car. Our Ansell-Menards team has been really strong and getting better with every race,” says Kimmel. “My last time out on the big tracks we finished strong at Michigan and Chicago – I’m expecting to carry that momentum into Pocono and the next bunch of races – and pick-up where Brandon (Jones) left off the last few weeks, he continues to impress with every outing.”

In five series starts driving the No.25 this season, Kimmel has three top-5 finishes – including a season best runner-up finish at Michigan Int’l Speedway and two fifth place finishes at Daytona and Chicago.

So far in 2015, the driver duo of Kimmel-Jones have combined for (8) top-5’s and (10) top-10 finishes – placing the No.25 Ansell-Menards Toyota second in the ARCA Racing Owner Championship Points Standings.

The ModSpace 125 event scheduled for Saturday, August 1st will mark Kimmel’s 46th start at the ‘Tricky Triangle’ – dating back to 1992. In his previous Pocono starts, Kimmel has notched three wins (’99, ’05, ’06) to go along with six Menards Pole awards, (21) top-5 and (31) top 10 finishes. He finished 11th at Pocono during the spring event.

Milestone Approaching: Kimmel’s 500th Career ARCA Start
Kimmel, the all-time ARCA series leader with 80 victories, is on-track to make his historic 500th career start at the DuQuoin State Fairgrounds’ dirt “Magic Mile” for the Southern Illinois 100 on September 7th. Kimmel is second on ARCA’s all-time start list behind racing icon Iggy Katona – who has 630 recorded starts. Bobby Gerhart and Mark Gibson (retired) are next in line with over 300 starts each.
