The 2015 Christian County Agricultural Fair is coming up, just a little over a month from now, and a number of racecar drivers have marked their calendars to take center stage.  The Taylorville, IL fair, which runs from Tuesday, July 21 to Saturday, July 25, has an auto racing event planned for Wednesday, July 22.  The event is promoted by Track Enterprises of Macon, IL and presented by Larry’s Service Center of Taylorville.

2014 marked the return of racing to the fair.   Last year’s event, which was the first in decades, was very successful, boasting a strong turnout in cars and fans.           The 2014 edition of the event saw Kaleb Wood take the win in a field of 20 Street Stocks.  Jeremy Nichols claimed the Sportsman feature, while Jeremy Reed won the Hornet A-Main.

This year’s Larry’s Service Center presented NAPA Triple Header will feature Sportsman, Street Stocks, and Hornets.  While all races will be UMP sanctioned, the Street Stock event is also part of the Big Ten Series.

“Last year’s event was highly successful so coming back for a second straight year was a no-brainer,” stated promoter Bob Sargent.  “The car count was strong, the racing was good, and the crowd left happy.”

Pits open at 4:00 on Wednesday, July 22, grandstands at 5:00, drivers meeting at 5:30, hotlaps at 6:00, with racing action taking the green at 7:00.

Macon Speedway rules will apply for all classes of racing.  For more information, visit www.trackenterprises.com or www.christiancountyfair.com.  For further details call 217-764-3200.
