2014SumNatHTPaducah copyPADUCAH, Ky. – Racing action will be red hot Friday, June 27 as the dirt warriors on the Dirtcar UMP Summer Nationals Tour make a stop at the lightning fast three-eighths mile dirt oval at Paducah International Raceway for the third annual Chris Smith Memorial. Drivers from around the country have been doing battle on the circuit dubbed “The Hell Tour’’ for its grueling schedule of 33 races in 39 days.

The PIR event will be the 14th race as the championship begins to take shape. Last year, Brandon Sheppard of New Berlin, Ill., won the UMP Summer Nationals championship, and he’s back on the tour racing again this season. Racing legend Billy Moyer won the Smith Memorial last season, and he already opened The Hell Tour with a win at Kankakee (Ill.) Speedway this season. Get ready to see the cars and stars of the UMP Summer Nationals as they pilot the super late models around the fabulous layout at Paducah International Raceway while chasing the $10,000 that goes to the winner.

Also, see the UMP Modified division compete for $1,000 first-place prize along with UMP Pro Crate Late Models.

Pit gates open at 2 p.m. with grandstands open at 5 p.m. Hot laps begin at 6:30 with the dirt-slinging, door-to-door action.
General admission is only $25 for adults. Kids 12 and under are $5. Pit admission is $35.
