(Macon, IL) Longtime Track Enterprises President and CEO, Bob Sargent, has added another award to his long list of accomplishments during his racing promotions career. The latest came on Thursday when he was announced as a recipient of the National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Lifetime Achievement Award.

The Lifetime Achievement Award will be presented to Sargent at the 2024 National Dirt Late Model Hall of Fame Induction Ceremony in August, in Florence, KY. The award recognizes those who have reached great achievements through a lifelong commitment to the sport of Dirt Late Model racing.

“These Lifetime Achievement awards are something that we work through each year. We pour over information and research about potential candidates to make sure that we get it right. These are awards for people that might not reach the Hall of Fame through traditional means but that are worthy of being honored and recognized among their peers,” said NDLMHoF President Gerald Newton.

Sargent, who began as a racing promoter in 1985 when he took the reins of his local dirt track, Macon Speedway, in Macon, IL. Sargent held ownership of that 1/5-mile oval for nearly 40 years, selling the speedway after the 2022 racing season. Sargent continues as a promoter at Lincoln Speedway in Lincoln, IL and Nashville Fairgrounds Speedway in Nashville, TN. Sargent is also well known for being the longtime promoter of the Illinois State Fair races in Springfield and Du Quoin. He’s also had long promotion runs in Paducah, KY, Terre Haute, IN, and Farmer City, IL among others.

“I’m honored to receive this award but it’s been a long journey with a lot of friends and family who have been a big help over the years. To do everything we’ve been able to do, it takes a great team,” stated Sargent.

In addition to race track promotions, Sargent continues to lead the day-to-day operations of Track Enterprises which has grown astronomically in the past three years on the asphalt racing side, now the parent company of the newly formed ASA STARS National Tour, the Champion Racing Association and its four series, the ASA Midwest Tour, and streaming site TrackTV.com. Track Enterprises also hosts the NASCAR Craftsman Truck Series in Milwaukee in addition to a number of ARCA Menards Series and USAC events.

The Lifetime Achievement Award joins the list of accolades which includes the 1985 ARCA Marcum Award, 1994 USAC Promoter of the Year Award, 2010 UMP DIRTcar Promoter of the Year Award, 2011 National Auto Racing Promoter of the Year Award, the 2016 USAC Race Organizer of the Year Award, and the 2018 Bob Memmer Award.
