DuQuoin To Hold General Tire Grabber 100
Entitles Five Race Events, Partners with Eight Tracks DAYTONA BEACH, Fla. (February 12, 2016) – General Tire has partnered with eight tracks as part of their “all-in” involvement with the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards. In addition to the presenting sponsorship status with this weekend’s season opener at Daytona – the Lucas Oil 200 Driven by General Tire – the tire manufacturer is partnering with Talladega Superspeedway, Pocono Raceway, DuQuoin State Fair, and Kentucky Speedway to build an entitlement portfolio for the 2016 ARCA season.

This monumental announcement will find General Tire taking a leading role with race sponsorship and consumer activation that will utilize a new display. The always action packed race at Talladega on April 29 will be known as the “General Tire 200.”
“The ARCA Series has been a staple here at Talladega since the beginning of the facility in 1969 and we are thrilled to have a historical brand like General Tire join our track family,” said Talladega Superspeedway Chairman Grant Lynch. “General Tire being a part of the biggest and baddest track on the planet with the General Tire 200 will make an immediate impact on race fans everywhere.”
The first of two ARCA events at Pocono’s Tricky Triangle on June 3 will become the “General Tire #Anywhere Is Possible 200.”
“General Tire is going to be a great partner for us and we are looking forward to working with them to put on a great event for our fans,” said Pocono Raceway President & CEO Brandon Igdalsky. “The Mattioli family and ARCA have a long history of working together and this is another opportunity for us to support this great series.”
When the series roles into DuQuoin, Ill. on Labor Day Weekend, the dirt race will be titled “General Tire Grabber 100.” The Grabber line of light truck tires is a focal point at the company’s tire plant located less than an hour north of the fairgrounds in Mt. Vernon, Ill.

To cap off an exciting first year for the tire brand, the late September race weekend at the newly repaved Kentucky Speedway will be named the “General Tire Super Weekend at Kentucky Speedway” which will host the ARCA Racing Series Crosley 150 on Friday, September 23 and the NASCAR XFINITY Series VisitMyrtleBeach.com 300 on Saturday, September 24.
