Lincoln, Macon, & State Fair Races To Keep Fans Smiling

Months of preparation are just about to be put into action, as Track Enterprises begins the busiest part of its 2015-schedule, State Fair weekend.  In addition to Saturday and Sunday races at the Illinois State Fairgrounds, events at Lincoln Speedway Friday night and Macon Speedway Saturday night will keep racefans thirst quenched over the next three days.

It all begins Friday night, August 21, as the highly popular POWRi Midgets and Micros make their way to Lincoln Speedway, in Lincoln, IL.  Joining them for their only visit this summer will be the Midwest Big Ten Pro Late Models and the UMP Modifieds.  Beautiful sunshine and temperatures in the low to mid 80’s will make for a perfect day.  Hotlaps begin at 6:00 with racing at 7:00.

Saturday morning, a list of 37 expected USAC Silver Crown cars will be making the trek to the Illinois State Fairgrounds for one of the most anticipated races on the mile in over a decade.  Joining the open wheel stars will be the UMP Sportsman for their Nationals event.  Hotlaps will begin at 10:00 AM with racing around 12:00 noon.

The second half of Saturday’s doubleheader takes place at Macon Speedway, as POWRi Midgets and Micros are on the card.  The final visit this season for POWRi will also see the UMP Billingsley Towing Modifieds and UMP Street Stocks.  Practice at Macon will begin at 6:00 with racing at 7:00.

Rounding out the weekend will be the SuperChevyStores.com 100 for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards.  32 drivers are currently scheduled to compete at the Illinois State Fairgrounds for one of just two dirt races on the season-long schedule.  Practice will begin at 9:00 AM with racing taking the green on the Sportsman feature at 12:00 noon.

Many racefans are planning to make all four shows this weekend, as the events are close in proximity and the entry lists will see some of the best in the country at all three tracks.
