The ARCA Racing Series Presented By Menards is getting close to its stretch run for 2015, which means the popular events at the Illinois State Fair in Springfield and DuQuoin are coming up in the near future.  The two races are very special to the series, as they are the only two dirt events on the versatile ARCA schedule.

The Illinois State Fair event at Springfield was first run back in 1963, where Curtis Turner claimed the victory.  Over the years, 17 different winners have graced victory lane and the list is a who’s who of open wheel and stock car history.  Al Unser, Jack Bowsher, Ramo Stott, AJ Foyt, Joe Ruttman, Bob Keselowski, Ken Schrader, Justin Allgaier, and Frank Kimmel are just some of the stars who have savored victory at the Springfield mile.

The SuperChevyStores.com 100 on Sunday, August 23 is just part of the fun at the fair, when it comes to racing.  On Saturday, August 22, the USAC Silver Crown Series will be competing in the Tony Bettenhausen 100.  The Sportsman Nationals will be part of both shows, with heats on Saturday and the feature on Sunday before the ARCA event.  Racing begins both days at 12:00.

Looking ahead to the month of September, the traditional DuQuoin Fair races will be Labor Day weekend, Sunday, September 6 and Monday, September 7.  USAC Silver Crown will run their events on Sunday as well as the preliminary portion of the Modified show.  On Monday, ARCA comes into town for the Southern Illinois 100 and will be running alongside the feature for the UMP Modifieds.

Advance reserved adult tickets can be purchased for any of the days for $25, a discount of $5.  Children 11 and under are $10.  Tickets may be purchased by calling Track Enterprises at 217-764-3200 or by contacting either of the two fairgrounds ticket offices.
