ARCA/CRA Super Series & Southern Super Series Event Coming April 8/9

Pre-entries continue to pour in for the April 8/9 Rockin’ & Racin’ event at Fairgrounds Speedway Nashville.  In addition to the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards, the ARCA/CRA Super Series powered by JEGS and the Southern Super Series presented by Sunoco will be in a combined event for the first time ever.  Friday night’s program is made up of separate point races for the two series, while Saturday night will feature the combined North-South Super Late Model challenge presented by Team Construction.

Leading the list for the second round of entries is NASCAR Camping World Truck Series driver, Christopher Bell.  The Norman, OK driver will be piloting the Kyle Busch Motorsports/Toyota #51.  Bell, who has won many races behind the wheel of open wheel cars, has been blazing fast in the NASCAR Camping World Truck Series starts this year.

Other young up-and-coming stars that will try to claim a Nashville guitar include Tyler Ankrum, Derek Scott, Jr., Derek Kraus, Riley Herbst, and Dalton Sargeant.  All of the aforementioned drivers are still under the age of 20.

When it comes to veterans, this event will have a solid group to mix it up with the young guns.  Former NASCAR XFinity Series star Steve Wallace will be on the 5/8-mile running with the Southern Super Series on Friday night before the combined Saturday show.  Kyle Grissom, another driver whose father Steve competed in the top NASCAR ranks, will be there as well.  Kenzie Ruston, Dennis Reno, Chris Davidson, Eddie Van Meter, Jack Smith, Dennis Schoenfeld, Allen Karnes, and former All-American 400 winner Boris Jurkovic are other entries that have been recently received.

During the first wave of entries it was announced that Senoia, GA driver Bubba Pollard had entered.  Pollard is coming off the Speedfest win at Cordele’s Watermelon Capital Speedway and a $40,000 pay day when he claimed the Winter Showdown at Kern County Raceway Park in Bakersfield, California on February 28th.  Other early bird entries included NASCAR Camping World Truck Series Kyle Busch Motorsports teammates Cody Coughlin and William Byron, Cole Anderson, Donnie Wilson, Zane Smith, Dennis Prunty, Travis Braden, Dalton Armstrong, Quinnton Bear, Mason Mingus, Michael House, Wes Griffith, Jr., Cole Rouse, Thomas Woodin, and Matt Mills.

Teams running for points with the ARCA/CRA Super Series or that reside North of Nashville should enter with the entry form from the ARCA/CRA Super Series. Teams running for points with the Southern Super Series or that reside South of Nashville should enter with the entry form from the Southern Super Series.

The North/South Super Late Model Challenge 125 Presented by Team Construction will consist of a combined two hour practice and qualifying on Friday, April 8th, along with a 50 lap points feature for the ARCA/CRA Super Series and North Teams and a 50 lap points feature for the Southern Super Series and South Teams. The top 12 finishing teams in each 50 lap feature will automatically transfer to the final 75 lap Challenge that will take place on Saturday, April 9th. Each series will also have two point provisionals for the 75 lap Challenge. There will be a last chance race on Saturday that will add four more starters completing the 32 car field for the 75 lap Challenge that will be for no series points, but will pay $5000 to win.

Crosley mini jukeboxes and trophies will be awarded to both 50 lap feature winners and for the 75 lap Challenge winner. Friday’s feature events will be four tire races. Teams may put on two new tires for Saturday’s 75 lap Challenge. The ARCA Racing Series Presented by Menards will have a 200 lap event on Saturday following the 75 lap Challenge.

Adding to the excitement of the Super Late Model racing is the live concert on Friday night featuring Colt Ford and Trent Tomlinson.  The concert will begin around 8:30, following the CRA and SSS features.  The main attraction Saturday night will be the Music City 200 for the ARCA Racing Series presented by Menards in addition to the combined Super Late Model feature.
